review of school trg :Aug 12

This is the 3rd training conducted by Part C specialists.
-Total strg : 19 Part C and 32 Part A cadets
1) 1st KOK-up of the day, SRO was updated twice and finalised only on Friday morning. CLTs on duty were informed abt it at the last minute with regards to a change in training programes. -- shows that there is a breakdown or lag in communication.
2a) Poor unit intel -- not all specialists knoe what they supposed to do, unclear about their responsibilities and so on. e.g. CSM and ASM lecturing along with other specialists while their duty is only to oversee and allocate duties.
2b) Poor unit intel -- Specialist lecturer only knoe on Friday morning that most of Part A cadets are going for Learning Journey which ended only at 5pm. Results in the skipping of colours because of insufficent strength to form a parade??? 8 Part A cadets left after the rest went for Learning Journey, SRO is changed again because of Chinese Oral Exams thus PT is cancelled. New training programme, lecture and drills only.
3) Part C attitude -- Part C specialists' attitude are slacking down again except for key-appointment holders, some report for training in sch uniforms and likewise during the training, slack because no duties for them as there were only 8 Part A cadets that were being instructed by 9 Part C specialists, most who were key-appointment holders like CSM himself.

*note: Part B cadets not present because of school event where the whole sec 2 level went for learning journey. The rest of the Part A cadets joined the training only after 5.45pm when they reach school. DO was not present.

Conclusion: Specialists are not clear abt their purpose and what they supposed to do. Responsibilities not fulfilled properly. Poor inter-unit communication between specialists and their men. Poor specialist-to-clts communication. There is initiative but a serious lack of it to gather intel so that each specialist knoe his own part and is updated abt his charges under him. Hence AAR after training was carried out and these problems identified and explained to Part C key appointment holders such that solutions are discussed on the spot itself. e.g. From nw on, 2 copies of the SRO will be sent to the 2 duty clts of the next training. SROs are to be more detailed from now on, with each activity accompanied with explanations on what specialists plan to teach n do. Each specialist are also to plan their own lectures and training programmes and keep a record of it such that duty clts can check from time to time to update themselves on the status of Part A/B cadets' current progress on what they hav learned so far from the specialists teaching them.
