training review for 11th Aug 2006
todae, colours began at 1440hrs. There was no duty officer, clt took over. the respective strength for the various parts todae are as follows
Part A: 22/31 - 6MCs, 2AWOL and 1 excused
Part B: 12/31 - 17 National Camp and 2 MCs
Part C: 11/32 - 17 National Camp, 2 MCs and 2 ICEP.
The part As started off with a lecture on the prof test, after which was a simple test on the lecture. Only 5 passed, 17 FAILED. although it only tested simple things like parts of the ship. The part Bs started started of with a lecture on their sea com rules and regulation and strategy. After the lectures, they went for a combined pt at the primary school parade square. Their physical standard was alright, but many lacked endurance..mainly the part As. They went for a game of soccer for half an hour after pt. Followed by the dismissal parade at 1815hrs. Generally, the training todae was alrite, nothing major happened. The clts den conducted a AAR after dismaissal. There was quite a few things which needed to be settled during AAR.

- What we taught them before they became specs all became useless because simple etiqutte like how do they report strength, not to face their back to the officer and csm when reporting strength and also the room thing when a officer enters the classroom. All these were not shown.
- The part B ASM conducted his lecture well, but it was different in the case of the Part A. They were taught about how to prepare to teach but it turned out different. The part A pl sgt was simply just reading off the ncc handbook. it showed that he was not prepared and knowledgeable enuf to teach. He was also not able to control the discipline of the part As in the room.
- PT was quite ok just that there was quite a number of casualties mainly cos of excuses of sickness prior to training and not 'inherited' during training. There were 11 part Cs present as u could see from above. And ALL 11 were at the pt ground. not realli helping much in the conducting of pt but talking at the back. They were told by daryl to clear off, but they did not really listen. i told them about this and it was made clear.
- The other matters discussed were all about jobs to be settled by the respective appointment holders.
Generally, the specs attitude towards clts needs to be improved on. We 50th batch try to refrain from using corporal punishment on them as they are already specs. but i tink if they were to continue like that, we would have no choice. especially for the S4 and PTI. Its jus tolerating them now. Lastly, could i request that clts behave more professionally during AAR next time. i'm sorry that there are so many faults listed. Its my fault. I will work on it. Thats all for now.

as we all know, all these problems arises due to the fact that they have insufficient training as many were cancelled due to several reasons. i think its time we come down hard on the specs. they seem to have a lot of excuses when we find and pointed their faults to them. i hope we can get more serious in the trainings ahead so that we can still with hold the discipline since our pioneer batch. generally the part A's are very soft. every little bit of thing they cannot take it and start complaining here pain there pain... then report sick. part B's i have no comment but they still have areas to improve on...
pple..u all nd to also reflect on urselves as well..u all nd to make frenz wi the specs, not enemies..try to make an effort to understand them and den they will learn to respect u all. ciao. i will come dwn when i hav time.
precisely. they think that we are too friendly with them already. so when we give out instructions on things that NEED TO BE DONE.. they will slowly take their time or give u excuses not to do it. so i believe that it is about time to come down hard on them. besides, we have been giving in to them for the past half year already. and they have been taking it for granted.
